How Parabolic Trough Systems Work

Concentrate. Absorb. Deliver.

Our systems use proven parabolic trough technology to turn sunlight into industrial-grade heat — for process heat, desalination, hot water, and cooking.

Every system is factory-built, containerized, and shipped turnkey ready.

The Principle

Parabolic trough systems have been used in industrial solar plants for decades. The principle is simple and proven.

A curved mirror concentrates sunlight onto a receiver tube. The receiver absorbs the heat and transfers it to water, glycol, or thermal oil. That heat can be used for four outputs:

  • Process heat
  • Desalination
  • Hot water
  • Cooking

No membranes. No filters. No chemicals. No grid connection.

Step 1 — Concentrate

The parabolic trough is a curved mirror. It reflects sunlight onto a single focal line.

The concentrated light is many times stronger than ordinary sunlight. That is what creates the heat.

Built for the field:

  • Mirror-anodized aluminum reflectors — 90% solar reflectance
  • Weatherproof coating — designed for 10+ years outdoor use
  • Parabolic curve — pre-formed in our factory
  • Precision alignment — set before shipping

No site adjustment. No specialist alignment. The curve is correct when it leaves our factory.

Step 2 — Absorb

At the focal line sits the receiver tube.

The receiver is a black-coated metal tube with a flat glass cover. The glass traps heat inside, like a greenhouse. The black coating absorbs the concentrated sunlight.

Built for performance:

  • Black receiver tube — maximum absorption
  • Flat glass cover — traps heat, blocks heat loss
  • Insulated cavity — reduces thermal loss
  • Pre-mounted at the focal line — aligned in our factory

The receiver heats water, glycol, or thermal oil to 150–250°C.

Step 3 — Evaporate (Desalination)

The hot water evaporates.

Salt, bacteria, viruses, chemicals, heavy metals, and microplastics stay behind. Only pure water vapor rises.

This is the same process that makes rain — but controlled, contained, and continuous.

No membranes. No filters. No chemicals.

Step 4 — Condense (Desalination)

The steam meets a cooler surface and condenses back into liquid water.

Pure. Clean. Ready to drink, cook, or use in process.

Built for reliability:

  • Large condenser surface — faster condensation
  • Gravity flow — no pump needed
  • Food-grade storage — safe for drinking water
  • Insulated tank — keeps water cool

The condenser is designed for passive cooling. No chillers. No fans required for standard operation.

Step 5 — Deliver

The heat is routed to one of four outputs:

Process Heat
Thermal oil or glycol at 150–250°C. For drying, sterilization, and manufacturing. Closed loop. No pressure. Routed through a heat exchanger to your process.

Desalination
Water heated to 100–120°C. Fresh water from seawater or brackish water. Stored in food-grade tanks. Ready for drinking, cooking, and irrigation.

Hot Water
Water heated to 96–120°C. For washing, cleaning, and sanitation. Storage tank and circulation.

Cooking
Multiple pots in a row. No constant tracking. No fuel. No electricity.

One platform. Four outputs.

How We Build It

Factory-built. Containerized. Turnkey.

We do not build on site. We build in our factory, test every system, and ship it as a complete unit.

Skid-mounted unit
Small systems, shipped complete on a steel frame. Turnkey. Ideal for pilot projects and small sites.

20 ft open-frame container
Medium systems. Pre-fabricated pipes. Turnkey. Ideal for communities, farms, and small industry.

40 ft open-frame container
Large systems. Modular and scalable. Turnkey. Ideal for industrial, municipal, and utility-scale projects.

Every Water System Arrives With:

  • Parabolic trough concentrators
  • Black receiver tube with flat glass cover
  • Insulated cavity
  • Pre-fabricated piping
  • Seasonal tilt mechanism
  • Assembly instructions

Every Process Heat System Also Includes:

  • Closed loop piping
  • Expansion tank
  • Circulation pump
  • Heat exchanger
  • Glycol or thermal oil fill — for 150–250°C
  • Temperature and flow controls
  • Safety valves

How You Deploy It

Unload. Connect. Operate.

  1. The system arrives on a skid or in a container
  2. Unload with a forklift or crane
  3. Connect the pre-fabricated tubes
  4. Fill with water
  5. Aim at the sun

No site construction. No welding. No concrete. No specialist labor.

This is how we built biodiesel, algae, and oil processing plants for decades. Now we apply the same model to parabolic trough systems.

Why This Works

Proven principle. Industrial execution.

Parabolic trough technology is not new. It has been used in large-scale solar plants for decades.

What is new is how we deliver it:

  • Factory-built, not site-built
  • Containerized, not constructed
  • Turnkey, not assembled by specialists
  • Designed by engineers with 50+ years in process systems

One platform. Four outputs. Shipped anywhere.
